Customs documents include several details about the package including the content type, description, commodities, and electronic signature. Most of this information is not included in the package details that are downloaded from your store. If the customs information is identical for all of your international shipments, then you can use ShipRush settings to enter the default values. If the customs information is unique for some or all of your packages, or if ShipRush settings do not include the default values you need, then you can use Print with Template.
Setting Default Customs Information Using ShipRush Settings
- Right click on a ShipRush icon in the Windows System Tray and select Settings > Shipping Settings from the menu that appears.
- Select Customs from the list of settings that appears on the left.
- Fill in the default customs information that will apply to all international packages.
- Click on OK to save the defaults.
- Repeat this for each flavor of ShipRush that you use (for example ShipRush for UPS and ShipRush for USPS).
Setting Customs Information Using a ShipRush Template
- Right click on a ShipRush icon in the Windows System Tray and select Blank Shipment from the menu that appears.
- Select any non-US country to make the customs information visible.
- Fill in the customs information that you want to store in this template.

If you add a commodity line item, Shipper will use it as a summary line item (the total cost and weight of all items in the package will be summarized into one commodity). If you do not include a commodity in the template, Shipper will add a separate commodity line item for each item in the package. - Click on the ShipRush icon at the top left corner of the ShipRush window and select Save Template.
- Check the boxes next to the type of information that you want to include in the template. Customs information is part of the International group.
- Click on the OK button to save the template on your computer.
- Repeat this for each flavor of ShipRush that you use (for example ShipRush for UPS and ShipRush for USPS).
- See "How do I print a label using custom ShipRush options?" for details on how to use the template that you just created when you print a label.
