Frequently Asked Questions > How do I print a label using custom ShipRush options?

Glossary Item Box

ShipRush has dozens of label options including COD, Delivery Confirmation, and special material handling. If you have a single shipment that requires custom options, use Print Shipping Label. ShipRush will display a confirmation window in which you can change the options before the label is printed. If you have find that you often use the same or similar options, it makes sense to create a ShipRush template and use that template when you print the label.

The ShipRush carrier you use to create the template must match the type of label you are printing. For example, if you are printing a FedEx label, then you must use a template created with ShipRush for FedEx.
Package properties take precedence over template values. For example, if you assign Packaging in both Shipper and in the template, the value from Shipper will be used.

How to Create a ShipRush Template

  1. If ShipRush is not running, then start ShipRush.
  2. Right click on the ShipRush icon in the system tray and start a shipment.
  3. Select the options that you want to use.
  4. Click on the ShipRush icon at the top left corner of the ShipRush window and select Save Template.
  5. Select the option categories that you want to save, enter a name for the template, and then click on OK.
  6. Close ShipRush.

How to Assign a ShipRush Template to a Package

  1. Double click on a package to open the details windows.
  2. Select the Label tab.
  3. Select the ShipRush template.
  4. Click on Save and Close.

Once the template is assigned, you can use Print Shipping Label or Quick Print Shipping Label to print the label using the options in the template.

You can use the Assign Template task to automatically assign a template to each package when it is downloaded.
